Markus Schulz is a German-born, US-based DJ and producer who has been a mainstay of trance and progressive house since the 1990s. He heads Coldharbour Recordings, hosts the weekly radio show Global DJ Broadcast and helms the In Search of Sunrise mix series, alongside darker club material under his Dakota alias. DJ Times named him America's number one DJ in 2012.
